documenting the human family

Moments captured through my lens and pen
I have a passion for capturing the
reality of everyday life — the vulnerability and beauty that often goes unnoticed — through photography and poetry.
As I go about my day it's pure bliss to document a moment that entrances me. My latest photography passion is finding and capturing unique vehicles that have human touches.
Poems to me are visualizations through words. When I don't have my camera, or feel comfortable taking a photo of someone, I combine my empathy and visual remembrance to write a poem about what I saw.
Caroline Amicone has been documenting and framing life through the lens of her camera since she first picked up a camera on a family fishing trip when she was 7.
Her only formal training was a photography class taught by Joe Deal senior year at U.C. Riverside. For decades since college, she has continued her passion for capturing the reality of everyday life — and the beauty that sometimes goes unnoticed.
In capturing the essence of the moment she frames the photo as she snaps it, and does not allow any of her photographs to be cropped. She believes that a true photo must tell a story, be a cohesive concept, and is only successful if the entire image is presented.
She admires the works of Helen Levitt, Gary Winogrand and Walker Evans, to name but a few.
Let's talk, I'd love to talk about my work and yours.
